Tulum is a magical place and a photographer's paradise. Miles of beautiful beaches, a lush jungle, and a vibe that you can’t find anywhere else, no wonder it was the vacation spot of the Mayans!
This workshop is an environment-immersive opportunity, with an emphasis on reflection, reset and aiming at creating a new body of work. We will explore archeological ruins, swim in cenotes, photograph the streets of Tulum town as well as models on the beach. Our adventure will culminate in a traditional cacao ceremony under a full moon!
Tulum is also an international culinary hot spot, the flavors are unique and hyper-local, our dinners on the beach and in the jungle will transport your palate to a new level. Share the experience with our non-photographer companion rates too!

One of the last cities inhabited by the Mayan people, Tulum was once an important trading hub, generating wealth exporting jade and obsidian.
Now, it's a fascinating city-museum, with well-preserved temples & stunning coastal views that make for an intriguing photo subject.

A cenote is a natural sinkhole filled with fresh water, formed when the limestone bedrock of the Yucatán Peninsula collapsed into the fresh groundwater. Now they offer excellent swimming & snorkeling. The ancient Mayan people believed them to be portals to the underworld, but to us they are portals to great photography opportunities!
The full moon rises over the ocean on our fourth night and you are invited to participate (or discretely photograph) in a Mayan Cacao Ceremony taking place on our beach. The ceremony is grounding and spiritual, no matter your denomination it will fully reset and energize you. Our workshop culminates with the full moon rising over the Mexican Caribbean ocean, a sight to be seen and photographed!
A photo walk in Tulum Town offers some great street photography opportunities as well as good shopping. Come for the photography, but stay for the tacos!
We will work with the Model Couple, Greta and Jairo for one sun drenched morning in the unique locations of our hotel property and the beautiful beach. Our goal is beyond portrait as we explore deep and fun photo stories for our models to play their part as you photograph them. photos by @ariannajphotography
On our first night we will enjoy a special dinner on the beach at restaurant Kapok, where it's not just about dining; it’s about experiencing the essence of the region on your plate. The menu is a curated celebration of the earth’s bounty, a journey that invites you to savor the distinct flavors. While the sun sets we will get to know the group and share an amazing dinner.
On our second night things heat up as we cross the street and have our dinner in the Jungle at world renown ARCA. Featuring micro-seasonal selections, the dishes are in tune with the roots and traditions of fine Mayan dining with bold and explosive flavors. Open-fire cooking is integral to the menu, which is composed of small plates intended to be shared, a way of eating that is inherent in Mexican culture.
On our last night, we return to Kapok for our final group dinner to order what you didn't get to try the first night!

All rooms feature air conditioning, ceiling fan, safe deposit box (perfect to secure your camera equipment), bath & beach towels, bathrobes and organic toiletries. Each room is unique, and you'll be able to select your room when you place your workshop deposit. Rooms are available first come first served and are available at different price points.

Tulum Workshop in Paradise Costs:
The cost of the workshop depends on the accommodation you wish to stay in. We have chosen two budget options (Bali Huts) and four Junior Suites for those that wish for a roomier option that are closer to the beach.

To hold your spot, a deposit of $2500.00 is required. When you place your deposit, an option for your choice of room type will be available. Room types will be available on a first come first reserved basis. Final balance is due on Decemeber 20, 2025
